What comes after V?

W, thats right. U,V,W,X....

Oh, and what does W stand for?

WASTE. A waste of time, energy, resources, money, or more eloquently stated by anonymous, "Why did we have to vote on Measure V? It is a waste. We should have continued to work on the DSP and put it to a vote a November. We would have avoided this whole mess".

Just in case you readers, all 2 of you, Paddy and anonyomous, didn't realize it, this Blog appeared on the Blogsphere after the election for a reason. The primary focus is not Measure V, not silly slams at
Council members or bartenders (although they are pretty funy Jim), not about editors of local throw aways (and you should).

It is a communication tool for us "Canyonites" as we like to call ourselves. Nice ring "eh?". So yea, once in a while we may have an editorial piece, or an opinion, who doesn't? Read any
paper and hopefully you can get a bit of both sides. Not that we have stellar news reporting here in the SGV. So you may have to go beyond.

So lets get on with our lives. Have you hugged your tree squirrel today?

Coyote Sighting

Keep your kitties inside! A large coyote was seen prancing along Idle Hour Lane in broad daylight up in Marlborough Terrace yesterday. Thanks Cathy for the wildlife sighting news.

V is for

Vile. Regardless of the side that you took on Measure V it is clear that if something could split this town literally in two, this was it. So what have we learned? That the way to draw 47% of registered voters to the polls is to create a monster!

Was it worth it? The glances from the neighbors whose signs in their yards differed from yours, the angry outbursts at Council meetings, the nasty rumors floating around, the blogging that is gotten out of hand.

I feel sad. Not only do I think that I was falsely accused by a neighbor of dumping my trash in their bin because of the sign on my lawn, but I think to myself, how petty.

What will happen? The drums will continue to beat as this gets tied up in the courts, continues to divide a City Council and its constituency and how the heck will we ever be able to recruit a decent City Manager with all the controversy hanging over us like a cloud?

I voted NO. I read all the material on all the web site read all the news articles, even the biased ones in that little throw away paper. My vote was cast based on what I felt was the best thing for the City. How will we, cash strapped for money, deal with litigation, developers and special elections. Time will tell.
